KARACHI: A shopkeeper was shot dead in Shah Faisal Colony No 3 on Sunday morning, police said.

They added that 30-year-old Munir Akhtar was sitting at his shop dealing in mobile phone top-ups in Green Town near the Azeempura graveyard when gunmen attacked him.

He sustained bullet wounds in the head and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim had quarrelled with someone a few days ago in the same area and that which might have led to the incident, Shah Faisal Colony SHO Naseem Ahmed Farooqi said quoting a brother of the victim as saying.

However, he added that so far, the family had not lodged any complaint against anyone.
