ISLAMABAD: Six persons were injured as two groups exchanged fire at Rawal Dam Colony on Monday night, police said.

The incident took place between two groups that were already engaged in a dispute. The groups had a scuffle over the issue, a few days ago.

According to the police, the group had another scuffle on Monday evening, but the issue was resolved by the elders of the community.

Later, one of the groups’ members gathered outside the house of their rivals and openly challenged them.

The situation worsened when their opponents took on the challenge, resulting in another scuffle, the police said, adding that the groups started firing at each other. Six people, among them, were injuring during the crossfire.

The injured were taken to a local hospital.

Police arrived at the scene, shortly after the incident, and were gathering evidence at the spot. No further details were available till the filing of the report.
