DADU: A large number of Mallah tribesmen assembled at DC Chowk in the town to block all vehicular traffic on Dadu-Larkana, Dadu-Hyderabad and Dadu-Moro routes at about 10am for an indefinite period.

They were protesting against the B-Section police’s failure to recover an 18-month boy, Ali Zahid Mallah, allegedly snatched by an influential figure of the town from his mother about six months ago.

The tribesmen, including the aggrieved mother, Salma Mallah, kept raising slogans against police during the course of their demonstration.

The protesters pitched a tent at the protest venue and all the routes remained blocked till the last reports came in late in the evening.

Ms Mallah told the media that she had lodged a complaint at the A-Section police station against Ayub Mallah soon after he took away her son about six months ago but the police were reluctant to lay hands on him.
