MINGORA: A private school in Mingora city on Saturday organised a walk to create awareness among the people of Swat district about dengue fever.

The walk was led by former MPA Mohammad Ameen. The students of the schools and local leaders of different political parties took part in the walk.

The participants of the walk were carrying placards inscribed with instructions about prevention of dengue fever.

The participants walked from Peoples Chowk Mingora and after passing through different roads returned to the starting point.

Speaking on occasion, Mr Ameen and principal of the school Ayaz Ahmad said that it was their collective responsibility to inform people about the possible outbreak of dengue disease in district Swat. The outbreak of the disease could cause major loss of life, they added.

The speakers said that people could protect themselves from dengue fever by adopting preventive measures.

It is pertinent to mention here that district administration has already launched an awareness campaign about dengue fever, which last year affected thousands of people in Swat. — Correspondent
