Current PCB chairman, should also be made chairman of PHF. This will be the best decision by the government.

I am an ex international hockey goalkeeper & a former Goalkeeper Academy coach , today i heard three , news items about Pakistan Hockey Team , which make me feel to write something for the Readers of DAWN , something other than just criticism . first please go through those three news items 1) PHF withdrew their name from the Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament because of Financial restraints , they cannot hold a training camp for the team because of the shortage of funds despite , Punjab Govt s promise of Emergency Aid of 10 Million rupees , which remained a promise 2) when former Olympian coach & captain Mr Hanif Khan was asked about his reaction , by some TV sports journalist , which he replied that according to his version Team should stopped to participate in International tournaments for six months and people who are running the helm of affair of hockey ,Destroy Pakistan hockey and they cannot deliver moreover ,moreover he replied another question that now Pakistan cannot come on Top in next Fifteen Years & he was not interested to join PHF in any postion 3) Former Olympian captain Mr Samiullah replied the same question by someother TV channel sports anchor , he said that these people present and former ( PHF Presidents & CO ) Destroy Pakistan hockey in the last Five years and he requested Prime Minister & President to Change the PHF Management to save Pakistan Hockey from Complete destruction , he further answer another question yes Pakistan can Deliver better only ,if mangement changed and in four years s time , Pakistan can come in the top Four positions , but cannot come on TOP, . Dear readers , after the above mentioned two former Celebrities ,i also want to add something for your interest and for the betterment of our National Sport Hockey . Pakistan Hockey Team s Nose down journey is not started just now , it took almost last five years and so to reach here , where there is no Hockey for Pakistan , in International Tournaments like World Cup , Champions Trophy , World Hockey League & Olympics , (leave aside the rest of countless Three Nations or Four Nations Hockey tournaments ) mentioned in the already Layout in Hockey Calender by IHF , in other words we are OUT , due to reasons one of the other Financial Restraints or Our DIS Qualifications . I have a solution for my beloved & national sport Hockey and for the People who Run , hockey in Pakistan .... i will write that solution in my next Post . But we all need to Realize now or NE

The Hockey is in the soil of Pakistan and it can never live without participation of Pakistan. The problem is that tallent in Schools, Colleges, Streets all going towards CRICKET. Thus hockey is ignored. But it can come again if the Flood lit Tournaments are conducted. Lucrative preferable posts are given to Hockey. So much so the policy makers should think how to make it glmorous

This was expected, sadly.Until the government does NOT provide funding to hockey, it will never grow!Feel horrible as hockey is our national sport.the media in pakistan is very strong and influential.it needs to play it's part and promote and fund hockey and hockey players as heroes!all we see on ptv sports n geo super is cricket, cricket and cricket.the two sports channels of Pakistan should take responsibility and cover hockey, tennis and squash matches too!
