HYDERABAD, Sept 29: Armed bandits struck Hyderabad again and looted cash and valuables in three incident.

The manager of Sindh Bank’s Hala branch, Baqadar Shah, had come from Hala with his wife to the sessions court, within the remit of Makki Shah police station late Saturday night. Mr Shah left his wife in the car to get a few documents photocopied and when he returned found his wife being held hostage by two armed men who looted Rs85,000 cash and jewellery worth Rs150,000.

In a separate incident, the telephone operator of a local Sindhi newspaper, Imran Memon, was stopped by six unidentified armed men on the Shahbaz flyover, in the jurisdiction of GOR police station.

The men took away Rs15,000 cash and his cell phone. The victim had been on his way to work in his Cultus car.

Meanwhile, in yet another incident which occured in the jurisdiction of Sakhipir police station, an employee of a cell phone company, Ghulam Mustafa was deprived of his cell phone and Rs40,000 cash.

Teenager killed in accident

A 14-year-old boy, identified as Tanvir Arain, son of Shaukat Ali, was killed when a motorbike collided with a truck near Nana Shah Baba graveyard, within the jurisdiction of Baldia police station, on Sunday.

After the incident, locals got hold of the truck driver Shafi Mohammad and thrashed him. However, police arrived and foiled the bid to torch his truck. He was arrested and his truck was impounded.
