KARACHI, Aug 22: A prisoner whose name was included in the list of 338 Indian prisoners to be released from the District Prison Malir on Friday morning will not be released, it emerged on Thursday.

The nationality of prisoner Manoj Kumar Warma has not been confirmed as yet.

According to a statement issued by the Legal Aid Office, headed by retired Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid, “In compliance with the decision of the Government of Pakistan conveyed by the Federal Ministry of Interior, and directed by the Government of Sindh, Home Department, as informed by Indian High Commission in Islamabad the national status of 01 Indian fishermen prisoner, namely, Mr Manoj Kumar Warma s/o Pannalal (Sr.No.338) has not been confirmed as Indian. Therefore it has been decided that the aforementioned Indian Prisoner should not be released.”

All other prisoners will be released according to the schedule.
