LAHORE Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leader Javed Hashmi criticised the funds received from the donor conference in Japan, saying that the government should try to strengthen Pakistan`s economy rather than rely on aid.

Talking to DawnNews after a PML-N meeting, Javed Hashmi said his party will welcome the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) if they decide to join the PML-N in Punjab.

He reiterated that the parliament cannot function effectively in the presence of 58-2b.

Hashmi added that the PML-N is willing to support the government to make necessary amendments in the constitution for the implementation of provincial autonomy.

A meeting of the PML-N was held in Lahore regarding the development works of Punjab. The meeting was chaired by PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif in the presence of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.

Hashmi said the PML-N wants the government to give Balochistan along with all other provinces their provincial autonomy.

He said his party strongly opposed the drone attacks in Pakistan, but it was up to the National Assembly to decide how the attacks can be stopped.
