Sir If it was England, Australia or any other proud cricketing nation thr coaching staff, selection committee and the cricket board chief woud have gracefully resigned for their consistent failures. However in Pakistan the entire system is based upon cronism and favourtism so the rot got deeper and deeper until the very foundation of the system have rotten!!! Thanks

Unbelievable. 80+ years old....and one to talk about removing senior players. Doesn't hypocrisy scream at them when they look in the mirror. What will change. As we all know in Pakistani bureaucracies the peons and officers wield more actual power than the Ministers. PCB management -including its incredibly powerful and resilient COO - has remained unchanged during the last FOUR Chairmen. So even the Chairmen who oppose each other have been powerless to change their management team...so how could change happen. Even now, any changes will be shuffling...not house cleaning...waiting for public pressure to subside.

How can one expect some sort of revival of cricket, when the people who brought the game to this level are still making decisions. It is contradictory. I am afraid that Pakistan cricket is heading where our hockey and squash are, in the dungeon never to come out. Why is Waqar Younis still there. Haroon Rasheed as a chief selector!!!!. Please give me a break.

Each and every official/coach/manager currently associated with cricket in Pakistan must go. Most players currently playing probably should be let go also. A team of independent business people with international experience should be put in place who will then completely re engineer cricket in Pakistan. The humiliation of Pakistan at the hands of cricket is unacceptable. We are proud people and demand better.

Too much changes at the players level will not bring back better for PAK cricket; they should have taken a strategic planning, in place of bureaucratic administration, by accommodating cricketing people at PCB. I don't know what's the background of PCB chairman himself? If he hasn't any experience as such, he shouldn't be worked there firstly. Next, the other coaching staff(A to Z) have no longer to stay there as they didn't create any substantive development for the shake of PAK cricket.

The mentality of perserving wickets and then scoring big in last 10 overs is flawed in the new era. You must score all the way from the word go. No player with a strike rate less than 85 and an average of 32 should be included in our OD team. Whenever chasing, they need to maintain the asking rate from the begining. Pakistan has always made an asking rate of 6 to 10 until they reach 30th over. It should stop. Some players may be consistant but if they are not stroke players then there is no place for them. Stretegies need to revised. Players need to know that playing fast doesn't mean playing airy shots. Chief selector should be some one who played the game lately, and there is no one better than Azhar Mahmood.

I believe, as a country and nation Pakistanis have long lost a purpose and direction. Shahryar khan sahib, please watch this three part interview of Majid Khan on youtube at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_WL548o8IQ I am sure you are aware of it but also by watching Majid Khan's interview you can see this rot did not start overnight. However, the last nail in Pakistan cricket's coffin was put in by Afridi's the then fastest ODI hundred. Nothing personal against Afridi but there is a difference between aggressive and positive cricket and senseless and blind hitting. I can understand the frustration of our younger generation that naively thinks an Afridi like attitude is a cure for all of our ills. What baffles me is, a lot of big name ex-cricketers also think and speak the same. I have said it before and will say it again, Pakistan, until we solve other more important and pressing challenges that this nation is facing, need a Sabbath from all form of cricket.

These are just tricks to pacify the nation and will not work. The true change will only come when we get rid of Sethi & Co.

We are totally unprepared to play against teams that are year round trained on county cricket or premier leagues. We ckosed down our stadiums and in-country cricket following terrorist attack on Sri Lanka team. Instead we should have accepted challenge and declare all stadiums and 3 miles radius as Cantonment area with security from Rangers and embarked on Pakistan Premier League matches year round. When two or three thousand cricketers play continuous matches throughout country, we could have emerged with 20 top players that no world team could match. But PCB is not interested in opening our stadiums rather promote out of country cricket and make TA and DA and stay in five star hotels.

Dear Mr. shahreyar and i will especially ask our selectors that please do not go by the domestic records and select the players .please i have notice something as i m not as qualifed as you people.but things i notice from previous series and this series. Truely you do not have better on the position of 4,5 and 6. all the players selected in domestic they play up the order and they really do not know how to bat in middle overs.

since the departure of inzi and yousuf you will not produce any player who have the sense how to build innings and how to gear up .so far what happened they will take time and when scoreboard pressure comes they are unable to attack.either its lack of skills and now i heard on ptv sports they agian going to bring shoaib malik .please do not do this and educate your players how to play and improved their skills in academy other wise close the academy.show them the matches that how inzi win for pakistan and ask please saeed anwar ,inzi ,basit, give them 2 to 3 boys and ask them to work on them for 6 months or year and educate them how to build innings.

the bowling is also concern and now you are hardly see that any bowler debut in pak team when he is 22 or 25 .why not going for young bowlers.waqar should go and visit the villages and every part of the country to take some pool of quick bowlers and coach them in academy if your academy is not improve the skills and cricketing knowledge then close them.

stadiums rather promote out of country cricket and make TA and DA and stay in five star hotels. Our teamodoes net-practice just two weeks ahead of any match, how could they ever stand against teams that play year around cricket with regimted support from Coaches, Nutritionists and Dieticians. Our cricketers are out of shape due to parathas paya and nihari. PCB ! you need to promote Pakistan Premier League matches year round and take two years break from World Cricket.

the most important part is you need to find the player of 6,7and 8 same calebar of likes of abdul razzaq ,afridi, azhar if you want to maintain balance of the side .please you will not find them in your domestic circuit because so far u find hamad azam ,anawar ali,bilawal but they are so far behind they do not have skill ability to clear good attack and neither their bowling is so effective and this issue is since abdul razzaq dropped and not a single selection committee identify this and work on this .and its back bone of your team beacuse

The biggest flaw is at the top with the head of state (previously Zardari and now Sharif) politicising the game by being patron in Chiefs. Then there has been a tussle with Sethi for heading PCB. Unless these corrupt people are eliminated cricket can't prosper in Pakistan.

How long before we realise that Pakistan cricket is only reflecting Pakistan, its government and people. Morally bankrupt and professionally inept. I am sure that the mantra of "There is a lot talent out there" is delusionally false. Even if there is we do not have a system which brings it out and develops. Like all other Pakistani systems Pakistan cricket is being run as any other government entity from tax (tax dodging, regressive regimes etc), planning( shortsighted as evidenced by power investment and motroway priority) , economics( where taking out a bail out loan is considered an achievement), land(from patwari, mafia), agriculture(from bonded labour to surviving on subsidies) and politics (from rigging to undemocratic parties) and less said about law and order the better. Why are everyone surprised? I am not.

Isn't it bit late to admit while ignoring other's opinions for long ? Fist of all PCB should become independent of Govt infuence and then Sethi , coaches and other nepotism appointees should be fired. The system should be revised with the help of good, trustworthy, unbiased and selfless cricket professionals. There should not be a waiting game to carry our reforms. Persons like Intikhab Alam, Waseem Barri, Waqar Younis and others must be let go immediately. First it was Hockey, then Squash and now cricket reaching to the lowest standards. It can be revived if sincere efforts are made.

Just axing the senior players and changing some of the players and team management is not going to work. Why are you so late,why did you wake late let Pakistan lose at least 5 more series. We know cricket very well,Pl don't make us fool and do the right things at the right time. Many senior players have already suggested the PCB many a times that what needs to be done to improve cricket in Pakistan.Why don't you listen to them,not all, but some of them speak logically.They have a plenty of weight in their talks.

It's only been 25 years, that ours legendary cricketer Imran a Khan has stated that our cricket system is flawed and is in dire need of an overhaul. The problem in Pakistan is that, the incompetent class of people who are " in control " despise taking advice from those who have foreign experience, this is due to an inferiority complex and don't like to be progressive and modern in their thinking and action. I suggest, Imran a Khan draw up a plan for revamping the cricket structure in Pakistan and that the country follow it . Appoint an untainted Administrator to follow / action the plan.

First it was hockey and now cricket. History is repeating itself, unfortunately. Trying to replace the old guards with new blood sounds like clutching at straws and cannot pacify the purists of the game. Indeed, if anything, the change must start from the top and Shahryar Khan, who has no cricketing credentials, should be the first to go. He should be replaced with one of the masters of the game. We need someone insightful like Asif Iqbal at the helm. He was our go to guy in a crisis during his playing days and we need that sort of person to stem the rot at PCB before it is too late.

Cricketing system in Pakistan was always flawed, but was never talked about as much as it is now, as the reasons behind it are no longer only limited to Cricket. The terror attack on Lankan team has left a gap that's only widening by the day, resulting in zero international matches being played at home. Political involvement in board matters only makes things worse. Pakistan has to get stalwarts like Wasim, Inzamam etc on board duties - sooner the better. International Cricket will only be poorer if Pakistan keeps it's downhill journey intact.

Just now heard the news that BCCI ( Indian Cricket Board ) has appointed Dravid, Ganguly & Sachin to advise/guide the BCCI on the appointment of the coach for their national team. I think this is a good move since all the 3 are exceptional cricketers(ex) and their views/inputs would be based on their cricketing field experiences. Can't we adopt similar procedure? Now please, likes of Zak/ and other miscellaneous who want Pakistan to remain as it is, don't bother to comment. We are discussing national strategy here (not warped anti India mentality)

PCB Chairman must star by firing Subhan and Zakir Khan. Isn't it shameful that they hold the dues of Pakisani cricketers and the new comers have to contact the agents to get their funds released, Is this true or just a rumor. PCB Chairman must hold a meeting with all the cricketers to hear their grievances. but first he must give them assurance that nothing will happen to them even if they complain about any member of the board. The chairman should also evaluate when this downward trend started. This is right after the Sri-Lankan series in UAE which was Dave Whatmore last assignment. What happened after that. Mr. Waqar Younus was appointed head coach.

I must give credit to Mr Shahyar and Waqar for giving chance to new players. Now the results are bad, why? There is ZERO bench strength why? Very Simple. The selection structure is poor. The Domestic structure us poor. So what to do? Just go and study SA, NZ and adopt their structure, that is all. STOP sacking and replacing heads it will not help. The whole tree is ROTTEN cutting off a few branches will not help, replace the tree.

@Lawoftheland NOT democratic system, but a performance-based system. FIRST establish metrics, then measure, then blend essentials. Finally monitor opposition and 'add' specific components to 'deal' with the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent.

Why is Mr Khan so much concerned since there is no concept of performance review in PCB. He is getting his perks and paycheck and all that comes along with this post. In fact, all these incapable administrators are enjoying free rides. It could be that they know without Pak cricket flourishing, there won't be such job left to enjoy. The biggest reason of failure in Pakistan is the appointment of incapable administrators who do not qualify for the post. Their intentions might be honest, but, their qualification doesn't meet the skills required to fulfill the responsibility they are given. On top of that, the folks under them love it since these guys don't know much about he game, hence they can be easily influenced.

If the cricket system is flawed, aren't you and Waqar responsible for this? What are you doing still clinging to the seat of PCB Chairman and what is Waqar doing as the coach. Both of you should now be replaced. Just as you want the new and young players should be inducted.

Imran Khan should make his contribution to cricket in Pakistan. He will bring the glory back to Pakistan. His understanding about Pakistan politics is superficial as compared to Zardari and Nawaz. In India, all its cricketing legendary figure are busy in cricket nursary, not in politics. That is the difference between India and Pakistan.

Pakistani cricket is "completely flawed" starting from the top. What is Mr Khan doing as the Chairman knowing "kuk-all" about the game. He should bring the reform from the top, and resign forthwith. And the Coach should immediately follow suit....... That will bring the necessary fresh air for cricket to survive, and possibly thrive.

No immediate solutions.Poor non competitive domestic cricket can not be expected to produce world class cricketers dare I say it has less to do with managers or selectors . Almost all those players fans have been pleading for have had a chance but turned out to be even worse performers.They lack skills and any notable performance records to help them with confidence,you can see their miserable faces. They feel happy with a score of 30 to cement their place in the team.Nothing will work until domestic circuit is strengthened , even natural talented needs finishing touches and dedication.

Pakistan does not need ad hoc system for training of sports men,In our country all four provinces have teacher training colleges.The role of these colleges should be enhanced.These colleges should be given the enhanced role of coaching our sportsmen and coaches.This will increase the supply of trained personnel for the continuous improvement of the quality of our sportspersons.The technical training of school sports teachers shall be increased and this will give us a better crop of budding sportsmen for higher training for international competitive sports,

By playing in the UAE and preparing dusty spinning tracks where Ajmal, Hafeez and Afridi weaved their magic, our fast bowlers went out of the loop, lost their fitness, their interest and the younger crop all started to bowl doosras - our cricket became like that of India when spinners took the new ball and Prassana, Bedi, Chandra would spin out the opposition and not a fast bowler could be seen on the horizon for India. Add to this the fact that our batsmen do not get contracts with the English counties (an exposure that made Imran, Majid, Zaheer, Mushtaq, Miandad, Waseem and Waqar as great as they were), for reasons that would need a whole article, the untimely death of Woolmer, the appearance of the authoritarian Waqar and the chauvinistic Rameez, the terrorism tragedy, and the spot fixing saga - only a thorough rethink can make our cricketers competitive again. The situation is desperate.

Here in New Zealand every single group and club has to register with the government department, and it must have a constitution,and must have elected board.,From the that someone is elected for the region board,From regonal board some one is nominated for the nationalboard.Usually national board appoints a professional C E O.Someone who knows how to run a business.And that is how a country of 4 million was in the final of last World Cup.

Nice to hear PCB chairman has spoken truth and made confession. Words are useless unless its translated into proper implementation and actions. PCB Chairman needs to resign along with Najam Sethi , Waqar Younas and every one who is involved in corruption. These people should be tried by military court and punished if crime is proven. PCB needs to rid of government interference and influence. According to international sports policy, government involvement and interference is ill-legal and unconstitutional.

In teens we used to enthusiastically argue in 80s and would always conclude that whole is system is bad. High profile intellectual of PCB is saying the same think, I am surprised at his naivety and simplicity. Running Pakistan cricket is even tougher you need a strong administration to do that. Put Musharraf as Head of PCB for 5 years.

This didn't happen overnight; only thing we were doing was trying to find one reason or the other to deny the reality. While we are trying to find a short term fix, for sustained flow of players we need to go back to basics and revive inter school and inter collegiate level cricket which also supports club cricket. Additionally, we need to build international quality grassy fields so that young cricketers learn how to field. We need to look into PCB's overhead and eliminate majority of high salaried positions which are not adding any value to the end product, which is our national team. That saved money could be used to maintain the grounds and infrastructure needed for players. Board could bring the technology to design drop in wickets for desired specification to provide quality wickets to our youngsters. Last but not least bring the professionals who could optimally run the board. Look at last 15-20 years, people who were running our board affairs shouldn't be in their positions.

First step should be to remove Khan and Sethi..the diplomat in him is coming out to divert the attention...everyone knows that the system is flawed, but players always played with some passion and motivation. Pakistan's cricketing problem is in the management of the PCB. In the past 6 years, what has been done to improve this system? Pakistan WC history. 1975 - lost against WI due to poor captaincyby Majid Khan and the bowling of Pervez Mir. 1979 - Lost due to poor and slow batting by Haroon Rashid after great partnership by Zaheer Abbas and Majid Khan who brought Pakistan close to victory. 1987 - Lost due to one last over by Saleem Jaffer who gave away 18 runs which was the margin of defeat. 1996 - Lost due to last two overs by Waqar Younus who gave away 22 runs in his last over and 40 runs in his last two overs, in the semi-Final against India. 1999- Lost due to poor bowling by Waqar Younus aginst Bangladesh. 2003 - Lost to India because of captain Waqar Younus 83 runs in 8 overs. 2011 & 2015 - poor selection of team in the semi-final and quarter-fib=nals of these two world cups. It seems Sir, you have collected a bunch of losers in PCB to run the show to disasater.
