Last week a Principal in Banglore, India raped a six year old student, now another similar incident in Pakistan. Institution of learning where people find themselves safe, are becoming vulnerable to such attacks.

In every society there are sexually deviant individuals (mostly men) who prey on young helpless children. Rather than being emotional about it, we as a nation should take a pragmatic approach, which includes protecting our children (it does not mean putting girls in hijab, burqa, niqab, etc.) by keeping a close eye on who they come in contact with, being proactive about profiling these predators, arresting and prosecuting them. We can start with something as simple as a national database of sexual offenders. Also, as against popular beliefs, most children do not fall victim to strangers but to someone who is close like a friend, family member, neighbor, etc. BTW, this also goes to show that over covering of women does not stop their rape, as is commonly believed in Muslim societies.

There are plenty of sexual predators here, and not a single day goes by when some kid does not get raped and then murdered. I do agree with you that people of subcontinent are sex starved and this leads to a lot of frustration on both sides and where neither side is capable of dealing with the other in a healthy manner. However, child molestation is an altogether a different problem. This problem has always been around, it is just that it is now being reported more openly in the media. Before it was all hushed up.

The rape of a five year coming at the heels of a six year strangulated to death is evidence of how sick society has become. People who have daughters should agitate for immediate police reforms as without effective policing, there will be many more with most going unreported. The caretaker who had primary responsible along with others involved be castrated to set an example that civilised society will not accept such monstrosity.

@Saima Khan the laws do exist or its precedent but problem in your Pakistan is your Police as without bring in tough police reforms, it will stay subservient to the rich and powerful so no laws can bring those people to justice.
