PESHAWAR: At least six people were killed and three others were injured in two roadside bomb explosions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Hangu district, police said.

Police officials said the first explosion hit a passenger bus in the Droreyo Banda area of Kahi in Hangu district.

When people gathered at the spot of first explosion, another blast occurred but did not cause any damage.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Kahi police station Fareed Khan confirmed that six people had died and three had been injured in the blasts which was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

The vehicle was plying from Zargari to Hangu district when the first bomb exploded.

Fareed Khan said the bomb disposal squad (BDU) was collecting evidence to ascertain the nature of the explosions.

The injured people and the bodies have been shifted to a hospital in Hangu.

Bomb disposal squad official Akhtar Khan told Dawn that the home-made bombs weighed about 10 kilograms and was placed in a vegetable oil tin.
