HYDERABAD, Dec 14: The Al-Quds Day was observed here on Friday by Tehrik-e-Jafria Pakistan, Asgharia Students Organisation, Imamia Students Organisation and Jamaat-i-Islami.

Speakers expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine.

Asgharia and Imamia Students Organisations, including women and children, staged a joint protest rally at Kohinoor Chowk under the leadership of Yousuf Hussain Al-Hussaini.

Some of the protesters wore black clothes, while the others wore coffins as a symbol of martyrdom. They raised slogans against Israel and the US. They also raised slogan of Al-Jihad for the liberation of Al-Quds. They also burnt the US flag.

The activists of TJP held a rally at Qadamgah Maula Ali, which was addressed by Allama Muhammad Ali Jarwar, Allama Altaf Hussain Al-Hussaini, Dr. Mubarak Ali Jafri and others.

They condemned Israeli attacks on Palestinians and pledged to liberate the Al-Quds.

JI: The Jamaat-i-Islami also staged a rally outside the Aurangzeb mosque at Gari Khata in the evening.

Addressing the rally the city Amir, Shaukat Ali Shaikh, severely criticised the inhuman atrocities unleashed by Israel against the innocent and unarmed people of Palestine. He called upon the Ummah to unite on one platform for the liberation of Al-Quds and against Israel.

CONFERENCE: Arrangements to hold a two-day neuro conference on Jan 19 and 20 were finalised at a meeting held here on Thursday.

The chairman of the conference, Dr. Aftab Qureshi, and Medical superintendent of Civil Hospital, Hyderabad, Dr Ghulam Nabi Memon, will jointly presided over the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Dr. Qureshi expressed concern over the alarming increase in the depression patients and said that such patients should be given medical treatment without any delay to avoid serious complications.

He said the basic purpose of the conference was to educate people about mental diseases. He said every doctor must know how to manage head injuries.
