Rain affects life in Chitral

CHITRAL, Feb 27: Chitral is receiving widespread rain and heavy snowfall is reported in upper parts of the district for the last 24 hours.

Due to inclement weather, PIA cancelled its flights to Chitral for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday.  

Vehicular traffic to some valleys like Terich, Oveer, Laspur and Yarkhoon, remained suspended. The rain  has also disturbed the supply of power to the district.

Chitral remains cut off from the national transmission line for the last two weeks due to snowfall and rain.  

According to information reaching here from Peshawar, about 2,000 people, including women and children, are stranded in the provincial capital due to bad weather.
