ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Friday declared Inspector-General Islamabad police Bani Amin Khan responsible for the failure of the capital city police to arrest former president Pervez Musharraf immediately after the cancellation of his protective bail on Thursday, DawnNews reported.
Earlier today, the court had reserved the ruling in the case after reprimanding Khan over Musharraf’s escape from IHC premises after Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui had rejected the extension of protective bail granted to the former military ruler in the judges’ detention case.
The court reprimanded had Khan over the Islamabad police’s failure to apprehend Musharraf who had managed to transport to his farmhouse in Chak Shehzad, an area on the outskirts of Islamabad, and said in its remarks that the inspector general was not eligible to hold his post.
Moreover, Justice Siddiqui had told Khan he was directly responsible for the incident.
Justice Siddiqui had also said although he had suspended the sub-inspector, the responsibility ultimately lay with the IG who should have been suspended.

I am not sure if your assertion,"he is a better Pakistani then all others put togather" is correct, but I wonder the criterion you use to come to that conclusion.
You are right there should be no unnecessary vilification . I said " unnecessary" because the press and ubiquitous digital television consider it their duty to make statements which are often not well researched and credit worthy.
Why "leave musharaf alone", he must answer for his actions, the "rule of Law" demands that.

Shameful day for us Pakistanis. We have again proved that there are separate rules for rich and poor, while poors are put in jails, rich enjoy their swimming pool houses. In all jails of Pakistan there is not a single rich person. Well done Iftikhar Chaudhry so much for your judicial system, God knows who gives you judicial awards

All Pakistanis are responsible for the destruction of Jinnah Pakistan. Two individual who get the gold medal are Zia and Musharah, If Pakistanis have any love left for constitutional Jinnah then they must come forward and try both the individual for the destruction of Pakistan. Even though Zia is dead.

Musharraf is a courageous man who came to participate in the electroal process. Let the cases against him take their due process of the law and unless proven guilty, he is innocent. Let the people of Pakistan decide at the polls instead of politically motivated ROs.

It seems more like that the only thing the courts are intrested these days is to make a headline news against the ex President. The chief Justice doesn't look JUST anymore for all the decision that the courts have made along with the ECP to allow the fradulent to contest in the election and make a mockery out of article 62,63 while making Pervaiz Musharraf to pay for all the ills of the system and their vengence.

Many people like me would be confused in this situation. Personally I believe Musharaf a lot more patriot, intelligent and insightful than Nawaz and Zardari kind of nasty politicians. He was the first person after Bhutto who really did something good for Pakistan. But on the other hand, yes he came in a wrong way and did another wrong by imposing emergency and putting judges under detention. If I think in terms of only law and legality I would agree that Musharaf is criminal but when I compare him with Nawaz and Zardari kind of so called leaders who all the times used law for their personal greed then Musharaf looks me a savior.

Until we understand that Jinnah visioned a "Republic for Muslims", not a paradoxical "Islamic republic". You can be either Islamic or Republic. Let me know if there was or is, any "Islamic Republic" in whole 1400 years of Muslims history. Ask any cleric or so called religious scholars (except perhaps Ghamdi) if modern democracy where every person in the country has right to vote for his/own choice of leader, is Islamic or not?
Jinnah always said "Muslims are being marginalized in united India, so they should have their a country and government that could work to improve their lives (not to please God)". Once you start believing that states responsibility is to improve lives of all of its citizens and has nothing to do anything with religion you will start improving Jinnah's Pakistan
