ISLAMABAD, April 11: The capital police on Thursday apprehended 12 alleged killers, including two Afghan nationals, for their involvement in four separate murders in the city, police said.

According to the details, the Koral Police arrested three people for their involvement in a killing on March 30, in which Zamin Ali, 15, was found dead in an under-construction house at Ghori Town Phase-I. The victim had been strangulated and brutally injured with an axe and iron rods.

During investigations of the case, it was revealed that the victim had a dispute with his step-brother over property. The investigators had arrested the step-brother who, during interrogation, confessed to the killing of Zamin Ali with the aid of his friends.

Later the body had been dumped in the under-construction house, but a labourer had spotted it and informed the police.

The Golra police also solved two murders and arrested four people in this regard.

The police during investigation traced and arrested two Afghan nationals who had killed a retired federal secretary of the establishment division during a robbery at his house in D-12 in February.

With the help of the stolen mobile, the police managed to trace and arrest the murderers.

The police also arrested two people who had killed their business partner, Safdar Iqbal, in G-12 on March 12 over a financial dispute. The police said the victim and the accused had been operating a cable network in the area.

Safdar Iqbal had borrowed Rs12,000 from the accused, but had failed to pay the loan in time. He had then left Islamabad after an argument with the partners.

Upon Safdar’s return, the accused demanded the money again. When Safdar said he would pay the money in installments, the accused became angry and murdered him.

Similarly, the Tarnol police arrested five people for their involvement in the murder of Ghulam Rasool in Village Noon on April 4. The killers had gunned down Rasool in anger after their children engaged in a petty brawl in the area.
