LANDI KOTAL, Jan 2: The bullet-riddled body of an unidentified person was found at a roadside while a boy lost his life in an incident of accidental firing in Jamrud on Wednesday.

Sources said that Khasadar Force took the body of an unidentified person into custody after it was spotted by local people in Shahkas locality early in the morning. The deceased had marks of bullet wounds in his head and neck, sources said.

The khasadars arrested at least four persons in the same locality during a search operation. Officials said that the arrested men had links with militant groups operating in Jamrud and Bara tehsils of Khyber Agency.

In Ghundi area, a boy identified as Ziauddin was killed when a pistol of his friend went off accidentally.

Also, in Ghundi area unidentified persons lobbed a hand grenade at the house of Taj Akbar. The wife of Mr Akbar was injured in the incident. The explosion also caused minor damage to the house.

Reason behind the attack could not be known immediately as Mr Akbar said that he had no enmity with anyone. —Correspondent
