QUETTA, Oct 16: Four men of the Hazara community were shot dead in an attack on a scrap shop here on Tuesday morning.

According to police, men on motorcycles opened fire on the shop in Kabarhi Market on Sirki Road and fled after killing Ata Ali, Muhammad Ibrahim, Ghulam Ali and Syed Awiz. The bodies were handed over to the families after autopsy in Civil Hospital.

Enraged Hazara youths blocked the Jinnah Road and chanted slogans against the government and police for failing to stop the killing of people of their community.

Men on motorcycles fired in the air at Bacha Khan Chowk and in adjoining streets and shops were closed on Shahrah-i-Iqbal, Prince Road, Mission Road and Sirki Road and in Liaquat Bazaar.

The Hazara Democratic Party, Tahafuz Azadari Council, Shia Conference, Tehrik Jafria and Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen condemned the killing of four members of the Shia community and demanded resignation of the provincial government.
