LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Monday held a meeting with Talal Bugti, the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) leader and son of late Nawab Akbar Bugti, to discuss the Balochistan issue at his residence in Raiwind, DawnNews reported.
Speaking to media representatives after the meeting, Sharif said the political forces of the country should be given a chance to play a part towards resolving the issue.
The PML-N chief perceived the upcoming general elections in the country as “the ray of hope” and stressed on importance of them being free, fair and transparent.
Speaking on the occasion, Bugti said that he has come to warn the people of Punjab that mistakes that were committed in 1971 in East Pakistan were being repeated in Balochistan. The province is in clutch of corruption, he added.
The both leader agreed to resolve the issue politically.
Meanwhile, PML-N's Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that six points plan by Balochistan’s former chief minister Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal was not rebellious and anti-state.
