RAWALPINDI, Sept 3: A goldsmith was robbed of Rs375,000 by three unidentified robbers in Westridge, while another shopkeeper was deprived of Rs175,000 and five cell phones by robbers in the Waris Khan Police area, police said on Monday.

Muhammad Bilal, a goldsmith was on way to his workshop after collecting cash from his clients, when he was intercepted by three unidentified persons in the Waris Khan Police area.

The robbers at gunpoint snatched Rs375,000 and a mobile phone from him and escaped.

In another incident, three unidentified robbers entered inside a cell phone shop in Westridge area and took its owner and employees at gunpoint.

Abdul Aleem, the robbery victim said in his complaint that he was busy with customers when three unidentified persons entered inside and pulled out their pistols.

He said the gunmen threatened him and his employees, if the cash and cell phones were not handed over to them. They snatched Rs175,000 and five cell phones from the hostages and later escaped from the scene.

Likewise, a doctor’s wife was robbed of cash and cell phone by two unidentified robbers while going home from the commercial market Chaklala.

Dr Shahid Pervez said in his complaint that his wife was returning home with a driver in her car from the market, when two unidentified motorbike riders blocked the road and took his wife at gunpoint.

He said his wife was robbed of her purse containing cash, gold jewllery, ATM card and a cell phone by the gunmen who escaped from the scene.
