LAKKI MARWAT, Aug 22: Police arrested a militant during a raid in Lakki Marwat city on Wednesday.

Acting on prior information, a police contingent led by Lakki Marwat SHO Asad Ali conducted a raid on a hideout and arrested a militant, who was identified as Imtiaz.

A police official said that Mr Imtiaz belonged to Kachi Kamar village of the district and was a prayer leader in Darra Adamkhel.

“He had come to the district to celebrate Eid with his relatives, but was caught by police,” the official said. He claimed that the militant had links with banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and was wanted by Kohat police in cases of terrorism and subversive acts.

ROBBER KILLED: An alleged robber was killed in exchange of fire with security guards of Lucky Cement Factory in Darra Pezu town the other night.

“Three robbers attempted to enter the premises of factory when they were intercepted by security guards on duty,” said an official source on Wednesday. He said that the robber identified as Amjad was killed in exchange of fire while his other accomplices escaped.

Police have started investigation after registering a case on the complaint of a factory worker Mohammad Nawaz.

Meanwhile, two people were killed in separate incidents during Eidul Fitr holidays.

The first incident took place in Wanda Jandar in Dadiwala police station limits. Police said that Azizur Rehman was sitting in the guestroom of Nazir Ahmad when Kalimullah and his father Rab Nawaz allegedly came and opened fire on him.

They said that Mr Ahmad died on the spot while the accused escaped.

In the second incident, a man was killed when his bike collided with a car on Indus Highway in the limits of Dadiwala police station. The police have registered a case against the car driver.
