SAHIWAL, July 28: Urban areas, including the district headquarter, have been facing up to 20 hours loadshedding for the last two days.

Local Mepco officials are tight-lipped over the situation. Whenever they are approached by media, their answer is: “It comes from the National Transmission and Dispatch Company, Islamabad. We are helpless at this end.”

Haji Abdul Latif, President, Markazi Anjuman Tajran, said even Sehr and Iftar were not free from outages.

He along with his other trade bodies demanded immediate reduction in loadshedding which had hit their business badly.

HONOUR KILLING: A man killed his daughter in village 120/9-L.

Abdul Razaq of 120/9-L told Kameer police that his younger daughter Allah Mafi had twice got divorce from her arranged marriages.

He shot her on Saturday when she was busy in kitchen.

Kameer SHO Jawad quoted Razaq as saying that Mafi had relations with a village boy.

TAKEN AWAY: Three armed men drove away a car from a banker Salman Babar.

The incident happened in Farid Town at 8:30am when Mr Babar was going to office from his home located in Scheme No 3.
