KARACHI, Jan 27: Jail authorities submitted on Friday a home department notification before an anti-terrorism court for the jail trial of two suspects because of security concerns.

The two suspects — Kamran alias Madhuri and Sohail alias Commando — were booked and arrested for their alleged involvement in a murder case (FIR 341/11) within the remit of the Awami Colony police station last year. Kamran was also booked in an illicit weapon case.

The court adjourned the hearing till Feb 9 when the judge would hold the trial inside the Karachi central prison.

The same set of the suspects along with their absconding and held accomplices have also been booked for attacking the residence of Ashiq Chandio of the Sindh Dost Party on Aug 19 last year within the remit of the Zaman Town police station, kidnapping his nephew Shahzad and killing two others.—Staff Reporter
