HYDERABAD, Jan 20: A 12-year-old boy was reportedly subjected to sodomy, strangulated to death and his body thrown into a well near Haji Yaqoob Sodho village in Tando Mohammad Khan district.

The boy’s relatives found his body in the well on Friday during a search launched after he went missing on Thursday.

A student of class sixth, he had gone to school but did not return home.

According to villagers, some unidentified men had kidnapped the boy and threw his body into the well after subjecting him to sodomy.

The body was pulled out of the well and taken to Civil Hospital Tando Mohammad Khan for post mortem.

The chief minister of Sindh has taken notice of the incident and directed the DIG of Hyderabad to make serious efforts to arrest the accused of this heinous crime.

Tando Mohammad Khan DPO Mohammad Ali Baloch said the accused had been identified and would be arrested over the next 24 hours. He confirmed that the boy’s family had not come forward to lodge the FIR.

Our Sukkur correspondent adds: A teenaged boy was subjected to sodomy by four men in Ghotki on Friday and left for the dead when he fell unconscious.

The 14-year-old boy was returning home in Khuhro Langah village from a private school in Ghotki when four motorcyclists assaulted him. They dragged him into a sugarcane filed near the village and subjected him to sodomy.

The fled when the boy fainted. The boy’s relatives took him to Civil Hospital Ghotki.

When the boy regained consciousness, he told journalists that he was kidnapped by four men on motorcycles, including Habibullah Kori and Sikandar Mirbahar, who subjected him to sexual assault and also took his pictures with their cell-phones.

Police have arrested Habibullah Kori but no case was registered till late Friday evening.
