Missing boy killed

Published December 29, 2011

ATTOCK, Dec 29: Basal police on Thursday said a teenage boy, who went missing some four months ago, was killed by a maniac after subjecting him to sexual assault.

The district police headquarters said Shahid Mehmood, 15, went to local mosque but did not return home. On his father’s complaint, missing report was filed in local police station.

Later, the boy’s father nominated Hussain Ahmed and Nafeesur Rehman in the FIR, and police arrested them for allegedly kidnapping the boy. However, during interrogation the police could not collect any information from the accused which could help trace the whereabouts of the boy.

As a result, on December 3 the boy’s name was included in the list of ‘missing persons’ in the light of directives of Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, police arrested a suspect, Faisal Mehmood, resident of Domail village on December 28.  During interrogation, the accused confessed that he had kidnapped the boy and killed him after sexual assault. He said he threw his body in a well located near the village to hide his crime.

Police later recovered the decomposed body of the boy from the well, which was identified by his parents from his clothes.

The body was later shifted to the THQ hospital Jand for postmortem and DNA test.  Basal police have registered a murder case against the accused.— Correspondent
