LAHORE, Nov 27: A monitoring team of the City District Government of Lahore on Sunday got registered cases against three shopkeepers for overcharging and selling substandard commodities in Sunday bazaars.

The team led by District Officer (Monitoring) Amin Akbar Chopra visited Sunday bazaars at Wahdat Colony, Moon Market and some other places and got registered cases against stall vendors Muhammad Nazir, Muhammad Asim and Rana Javaid.

The team also cancelled licenses of two stall vendors and issued warning to another five shopkeepers for violating the price lists issued by market committees.

It also compared prices with the last week's price list and observed an increase in rates of seven out of 31 vegetables and four out of 24 available fruits.

The team directed officials of market committees to have a close liaison with wholesale markets to bring down prices of fruits/vegetables and other commodities.
