MUZAFFARABAD, April 5: The four alleged women swindlers, who had been taken into custody by the city police for their suspicious activities, were pushed out of the AJK territory on Tuesday.

Farhat Bibi, Razia Bibi, Rukhsana and Nasreen could not satisfy the police regarding the purpose of their stay in the city as they traveled all the way from Gujranwala to the AJK capital with a small quantity of washing powder which they claimed they brought to sell here, SHO City Ishtiaq Gillani told Dawn. He said the women were in possession of only 12kg of washing powder.

“Their statement made us suspicious of their intentions as no one would travel from Gujranwala to Muzaffarabad and hire a hotel room here just to sell such a small quantity of washing powder,” he said.

He said lately some families had been defrauded of their valuables by female swindlers who entered their houses on the pretext of selling one thing or the other.

He said as the police took the four women in custody before they could commit a crime, so they had to be pushed out of the AJK territory. —Staff Correspondent
