MIRAMSHAH / WANA, March 13: Four suspected militants were killed when missiles fired by a US drone hit a car near Esha check-post in North Waziristan on Sunday, witnesses said.

They said the car was coming from Mirali when the unmanned aircraft targeted it with four missiles. The vehicle caught fire and four people inside it were killed.

Earlier, a drone missed a target in Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan.

Local people said the drone fired four missiles on a car near Pray Kari village, but they missed the target.

An eyewitness, Abdullah, said he saw two people in the car before the attack.

The sources said that the two men in the vehicle remained unhurt and ran away leaving the car behind. The drone then fired another missile that hit the empty vehicle. AP adds: Intelligence officials said the missile strikes had killed seven militants and wounded five others.
