ISLAMABAD: Expressing dissatisfaction with the FIA's probe into the Haj corruption case, the Supreme Court on Thursday directed the newly assigned investigation officer Javed Bukhari to present a comprehensive report at the next hearing.

An eight-member judges' bench of the apex court heard the Haj corruption case today.

During Thursday's proceeding, the FIA, for the first time, stated that there were connections between the corruption and former minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi.

Bukhari said that linkages pertaining to the corruption had been established between Kazmi and Rao Shakeel Ahmad, former director-general of Haj operations, as well as between Kazmi and Ahmad Faiz Muhammad Shafi, a Pakistani national who had been employed by the ministry’s building department to hire accommodation for pilgrims. — DawnNews
