QUETTA, Nov 19: Six bullet-riddled bodies were found in different towns of Balochistan during the last three days, Levies sources said on Friday.

Lala Hameed Baloch, president of the Baloch National Movement (BNM) Gwadar zone, was among the two people whose bodies were found in Turbat. The other man was identified as Hamid Ismail.

Sources said that two bodies were found on the outskirts of Mastung town and one in Khuzdar on Wednesday. The men found dead near Mastung were identified as Bashir Ahmed Baloch and Asmatullah Baloch.

The body found in Firozabad area of Khuzdar was identified by police as that of Samiullah Mengal.

Lala Hameed Baloch was a political activist who was kidnapped by armed men about three weeks ago while Hamid Ismail was missing since Nov 5.

On Friday, Levies Force brought a body to civil hospital Kalat after they found it in Killi Kapoto area. People of the area had informed the authorities about the body. The man was identified as Nasarullah.

Meanwhile, Javed Lehri, a journalist, was injured in Khuzdar by unknown attackers on Friday.

The chairman of the Baloch National Movement, Khalil Baloch; Baloch Republican Party secretary general Bashir Azim, BSO-Azad spokesman and Nasarullah Baloch, chairman Baloch Voice, have condemned the murder of political activists and held agencies responsible for their deaths.

Amanullah Kasi adds: A strike was observed in Makran and other towns on Friday in response to a call issued by the Baloch National Front and Baloch Students Organisation (Azad) in protest against the killing of political activists.

Sources said that one of the victims, Lala Hameed Baloch, also worked as a journalist.

In a statement, BSO-Azad information secretary Salam Sabir Baloch said the strike was observed in Gwadar, Ormara, Pasni, Turbat, Panjgur and Mand towns to express solidarity with the families of victims.

Members of the Gwadar Press Club, Gwadar Bar Association and Makran Bar Associations and activists of different parties wore black armbands.

The BSO-Azad said its struggle against ‘usurpers’ would continue.
