DADU: Protest against oil companies

DADU, Aug 26: A large number of people of Johi town and different parts of kutcha area and activists of political parties and NGOs staged a demonstration in Johi on Monday to protest against the local administration of an oil and gas company, BHP.

The demonstrators were carrying banners and placards and were raising slogans against not providing jobs to locals in the gas fields.

They were led by taluka PPP president Basheer Ahmad Thaheem and Siddique Kori.

Speaking to the demonstrators, Thaheem said the administration of the BHP at Zamzama field had appointed many people from other provinces.

He said many engineers of various parts of Dadu district had applied for different posts but the company did not provide them with job.

KILLED: Abdul Hakeem, 29, was killed and his brothers, Madad and Ashiq Khoso, were injured in an armed clash between two groups of the Khoso tribe over the rotation of water in Ghulam Nabi Khoso village, Mehar taluka, on Sunday.
