BAHAWALPUR, Oct 7 The organizing committee of the advisory conference (set up in Jamal Dinwali in Rahim Yar Khan recently) at its meeting held here on Wednesday demanded of the federal government to restore the Bahawalpur province through an executive order.

In a press release, the committee claimed that all sections of society in the Bahawalpur division were united and were ready to sacrifice for the cause.

HARDSHIPS The Bahawalpur bench of the Lahore High Court has once again become non-functional creating hardships for the general public in the three districts of the Bahawalpur division.

The bench became non-functional after the Supreme Court served contempt of court notices on three PCO judges along with others.

Local lawyers had earlier protested against the posting of PCO judges in Bahawalpur.

It may be mentioned that after the July 31 verdict of the Supreme Court, the Bahawalpur bench remained without judges for over five weeks.
