LAHORE, Sept 11 Security officials captured an armed man from the premises of Punjab Civil Secretariat and handed him over to the local police on Friday.

The police said the man was moving in the P&D branch when security officials deployed there checked him and recovered a pistol from his possession.

The police identified him as Abdur Rehman of Gujranwala who had come to the secretariat in connection with a transfer.

TRANSFERS The Punjab IG has transferred and posted four DSPs as SPs on their own pay and scale besides three SPs across the province.

According to a notification issued on Friday, Punjab Investigation Branch DSP Ahmad Nawaz has been transferred and posted as Nankana SP Investigation against an existing vacancy.

Faisalabad region Punjab Highway Patrol DSP Muhammad Haneef has been transferred and posted as Sargodha SP Investigation against an existing vacancy.

Lahore VVIP Security DSP Tariq Mehmood has been transferred and posted as Lahore Security III SP against an existing vacancy.

Rajanpur traffic DSP Muhammad Aslam has been transferred and posted as Faisalabad traffic range SP vice Muhammad Asif Zafar who has been directed to report to the police headquarters, Punjab.

Punjab special branch SP Muhammad Masood Raza has been transferred and posted as Multan traffic range SP vice Hassan Tameel Haider who has been posted in Raza's place.
