RAWALPINDI, June 7: A man and his daughter were killed and four others injured when a passenger coach collided with a motorcycle in Tarnol on Friday, police and hospital authorities said.

Mohammad Zareen was going home on his motorcycle after picking up his daughter, Rubina Bibi, from school when a passenger coach (CH-6768) which was heading towards the motorway rammed into the motorbike, police said.

Mr Zareen and Rubina were killed on the spot while four coach passengers sustained injuries.

“The motorbike was smashed in the horrible accident,” the investigating officer said. The bodies were handed over to the bereaved family and the injured shifted to Pims.

BODY FOUND: A body was found at a deserted place in Tarnol, police said.

A villager spotted it and informed the police. There were some marks on the body, which suggested that the man had been strangled to death four days ago, police said.

The deceased was in his 30s and was wearing brown Shalwar Qameez (the national dress), police said.

HOUSE LOOTED: Three robbers struck at a doctor’s house near Dhamial, the robbery victim and police said.

Dr Hafiz Qasim, a medical officer at the District Headquarters Hospital, was getting ready for duty when the three men forcibly entered his house.

The doctor told the police that one of the culprits beat him up and demanded the keys of his Suzuki car (RNJ-6668). He and his wife were then locked in a bathroom while the robbers ransacked the place in search of valuables. They collected Rs50,000 and some gold ornaments and escaped in the doctor’s car, the police said.

The doctor said the robbers seemed to be in their 30s and were speaking Pashtu.

Meanwhile, a Khyber car (IDH-4648) was stolen from the Aabpara Police Station area, the police said.

PPI ADDS: Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) officials led the Waris Khan police to a florist named Jimmy who was using power direct from the main line without installing a meter and paying tariff to Wapda.

AFGHAN NATIONALS HELD: The police arrested two Afghan nationals on the charges of staying in the country illegally.

The two men, Mohammad Alim and Din Mohammad, were unable to show documents to legalize their stay in the country when they were stopped at Haji Chowk in Sadiqabad, the police said.
