SUKKUR, May 14: Two women and two children were killed and two men were injured by armed assailants in Chuttalabad village near Garhi Khairo, Jacobabad district, on Thursday night.

Six armed persons entered the village, attacked a house,indiscriminately fired on the inmates and fled.

As a result, Ali Dost, 2, son of Ali Bukhsh; Sardaran, 10, daughter of Mohammad Bukhsh Khoso; Sono, 28, wife of Ali Bukhsh; and Maryam, 27, wife of Mohammad Ali, were killed and Ramzan and Ali Bukhsh injured.

Later, the enraged villagers staged a sit in on Garhi Khairo-Jacobabad road for couple of hours.

Meanwhile, a police party reached the spot and assured the protesters of immediate arrest of the culprits after which the blockade was lifted. However, no case was registered till the filing of this report.

Police sources said that the killings were the result of an old matrimonial dispute between two groups of the Khoso clan.
