SUKKUR, March 23: A Frontier Constabulary jawan was killed and three others were injured in an accident on Shikarpur Rroad, near Abad Lakho village, on Wednesday.

An FC pick-up, carrying four jawans, was going to its headquarters in Qamber. When it reached near the village, it collided head on with a trailer coming from the opposite direction.

As a result, Allah Jan was killed on the spot and Akhtar Jan, Mohammad Jan and Tikka Khan were injured and taken to the Civil Hospital, Sukkur.

The trailer driver fled from the scene, leaving behind the vehicle which has been impounded by police.

BOY KILLED: A 10-year old boy, Abdul Jabbar Mahar, was gunned down apparently by some Jatoi tribesmen in the Nimoro Mahar village in the Lakhi Ghulam Shah police jurisdiction in Shikarpur district on Wednesday.

Reports reaching here said that Jabbar, son of Lakhmir Mahar, went to the field for cutting grass. Some armed men, who were hiding there, caught hold of him and asked for his identification.

When he told them that he belonged to the Mahar tribe, the armed men shot him dead.

After hearing gunshot sounds, scores of armed Mahars rushed to the place but till then the killers had fled.

The Mahar and Jatoi tribesmen have again entrenched against each other and tension is prevailing in the area.

FIRE: Twelve houses were gutted when fire broke out in Shambo Khan Mari village near Faiz Ganj in Khairpur district.
