HARIPUR, Feb 27: The PC-1 for the second phase of District Headquarters Hospital has been revised by the provincial health authorities, delaying its launching planned for June this year, sources said here on Sunday.

Construction of the 210-bed project began in January 1995. The project was scheduled to be completed in 1998. But due to change of governments and alleged indifferent attitude of elected representatives, the first phase was delayed till 2003. That year the PC-1 for the second phase was approved.

The first phase of this health facility consisted of an OPD and several other departments, while an administration block, four operation theatres, an ENT ward, hostels for doctors and nurses and a bungalow for medical superintendent were to be constructed in the second phase which was to be succeeded by the third phase.

However, the health authorities and works and services department on the directives of the provincial health department revised the PC-1 for the second phase. It has been reported that the PC-1 for the revised phase was sent to the health department.
