SIALKOT, Jan 31: The supply of potable water to almost all the congested industrial, commercial and residential areas remained suspended here for the fourth day on Monday causing great inconvenience to the residents.

The Gepco has disconnected all the power connections of the Sialkot TMA due to the non-payment of electricity bills. The affected people have strongly criticized the Sialkot TMA for not taking effective measures for the restoration of the water supply to the Sialkot city.

They claim that the water crisis in the city has been aggravated due to the alleged tussle between the Sialkot TMA and the Gepco authorities. Meanwhile, Sialkot TMA officials claim that they have stopped payment of power bills because the Gepco authorities were continuously sending the inflated electricity bills to the Sialkot TMA.

Instead of correcting these inflated electricity bills, the Gepco authorities have severed all the power connections of the Sialkot TMA, they further add.
