HYDERABAD, Jan 13: Over 500 employees of the Hyderabad City taluka staged a demonstration outside the press club on Thursday in protest against non-payment of their salaries.

Speaking on the occasion, CBA union leaders Akram Rajput, Ghulam Mohammad Qureshi and Hazoor Bux said Eidul Azha was near but 2,500 employees had not been paid their salaries of December.

They said corruption in the city taluka municipal administration was at its peak. They warned if Eid advance and salary were not paid immediately, the workers would go on strike.

HDA EMPLOYEES: Employees of the Hyderabad Development Authority under the banner of Mehran Workers Union staged a token hunger strike outside the press club in protest against the non-payment of salaries to them.

Speaking on the occasion, they said 1,800 employees of the HDA had not received their salaries for December. They alleged that deductions from their provident fund were also being embezzled.
