FAISALABAD, Dec 12: The sanitary staff of the Tehsil Municipal Administration (city) has miserably failed in lifting the garbage from streets and roads causing various diseases.

Almost all the filth depots set up by the TMA in different parts of the city are overflowing with the waste. In some areas, the roads and streets are littered with garbage due to the negligence of the sanitary staff.

It has also been observed that the vehicles meant for lifting the garbage from filth depots and open places are being used for other purposes by the TMA administration. The sanitary workers employed on daily wage basis are working in the offices and residences of TMA officials as well as Nazims and Naib Nazims of union councils.

Main shopping centres - Katchery Bazaar, Jhang Bazaar, Bhawana Bazaar, Rail Bazaar, Chiniot Bazaar, Satiana Road and D-Grounds have become the dirtiest places as the sanitary staff has been absent from the duty for the last several days. Residents of both low-lying areas and posh localities are facing problems as the stink emitting out from heaps of garbage is unbearable.
