HYDERABAD, Nov 19: The vice-chancellor of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, on the recommendations of the discipline committee of the university, has taken action against 14 students for their involvement in examination mal practices, including paper leaks, using unfair means and tampering with answer sheets.

The admission of one student has been cancelled, four students have been rusticated for two years each, results of seven students have been cancelled and cases of two students have been referred to the unfair means control committee.

SU: The controller of examinations, University of Sindh, on Thursday extended the last date for submission of examination forms for M.Sc previous and final rural development (external programme 2003-04) annual examination 2004 with late fee of Rs200 up to Nov 20.

Meanwhile, the controller also extended the last date for submission of examination forms for LL.B Part-I, II and III (fresh and failure) annual examination 2004 up to Nov 25 without late fee and with late fee of Rs200 up to Nov 30.

LUMHS: All the selected candidates for MBBS in the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences session 2004-05 have been directed to obtain their roll numbers from the office of the director admissions.

Classes for the first year MBBS will commence from Nov 22. Candidates who have applied for MBBS at LUMHS for the session 2004-05 on the basis of disabled quota have been directed to appear before the medical board in the office of the vice chancellor, Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi on Nov 27.

EXAMS: The additional controller of examination, LUMHS, Jamshoro, has announced that the practical and viva voce of third professional MBBS (new course) bi-annual examination 2004 of community medicine will be held on Nov 22 at the department of community medicine.

RECRUITMENT: The Sindh Regimental Centre has announced that the recruitment of non-combatant batmen in the Pakistan Army will continue up to Dec 31. Non-metric between 18 to 35 years of age having domicile of Sindh are eligible for recruitment.

Interested candidates have been advised to report at the recruitment centre with their educational and domicile certificates, CNIC or the form-B on any date up to Dec 31.
