DADU: Woman, daughter commit suicide

DADU, Oct 15: A girl and her mother committed suicide in the Garibi village of Johi taluka on Thursday night because of refusal of the girl's father to let her marry the man of her own choice.

According to Mohammad Umar Panhwar, her daughter, Bhani, 20, committed suicide by taking pesticide after he refused to marry her of her own choice. When her mother, Hajran, 50, heard about her daughter's death, she also committed suicide by taking pesticide. Their bodies were brought to the Civil Hospital, Dadu, and after autopsy, handed over to their relatives.

PROTEST: A large number of concerned citizens, councillors and political activists held a demonstration in Mehar on Friday to protest against alleged misuse of School Management Committee funds by the education department officials.
