ISLAMABAD, Sept 8: President Pervez Musharraf will visit the Netherlands and Italy for the first time later this month after a six-day visit to the United States, a government official said on Wednesday.

Gen Musharraf, one of the most important players in the US-led "war on terrorism," will travel to New York and Washington to address the United Nations General Assembly on Sept 22. He will hold talks with President George W. Bush and meet Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the first time.

He will give a series of addresses, including a lecture to the Council of Foreign Relations on Sept 23, the official said. The President will visit the Netherlands for two days from Sept 24 and Italy from Sept 26 to 28. -AFP
