SIALKOT, June 11: The district police have failed to recover the two kidnapped children till Friday night.

Sialkot DPO Nisar Ahmad Saroya told newsmen that police had found some clues to the incident and three special police teams comprising senior officials were raiding at several places for the arrest of the kidnappers.

He hoped that the kidnappers would be arrested within the next 24 hours. Some unknown men kidnapped local industrialists Hyder Sultan's son Taimur Sultan, 6, for ransom from Sialkot city's congested Rangpura locality.

In the other incident, four unidentified armed car riders kidnapped for ransom Saudi Arabia-returned landlord Khalil Warraich's son Adeeb, 7, from Gojra-Daska village.

TRADERS: The Markazi Anjuman Tajran has urged the government to exempt all the small traders and shopkeepers from the payment of general sales tax (GST) in the forthcoming national budget.

Anjuman district president Sheikh Abdul Rahman also urged the government to announce a special package of incentives for the small traders, besides, making some effective measures to halt smuggling of the foreign products. He said availability of foreign items in local markets was creating hindrances in selling the locally-made products.

Reduction in several duties and exemption from GST would enable the small traders to lessen the cost of production of their locally made commodities, besides, giving a boost to national economy. He said that same long-term trade policies had become vital for strengthening and booming the national economy.
