KHAIRPUR: Four women assaulted

KHAIRPUR, May 26: Four married women of a family were criminally assaulted by three armed men who entered the house of Muhammad Dinal on Tuesday night, in the jurisdiction of Tando Masti police station.

The armed men who had tied up the male members of the family robbed gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from the house, and escaped after setting the house on fire. Muhammad Dinal registered a case with police naming Waso Phulpoto, Basheer Phulpoto and Qadio Phulpoto for the crimes.

TEACHING POSTS: Some 20,884 candidates have applied for the posts of primary, junior and higher-secondary school teachers in the district. A press release issued by the EDO education here on Monday said that aptitude tests for selection would be held from May 29 to 30 at 13 examination centres set up throughout the district.

The statement said that at least 11,842 candidates had applied for the post of PST out of which 8,822 were men and 3,020 women while 9,042 candidates had applied for JST and HST out of which 7,098 were men and 1,945 women.
