KHAIRPUR, April 12: The Ranipur police on Monday registered a case against 44 people for murdering eight people of a family in the Lal Watni village on Sunday. Roshan Din Watni lodged an FIR against Zulfiqar alias Bhutto, Manthar, Gul Mohammad, Khair Mohammad, Ghulam Qadir, Zahoor, Hashim, Altaf, Mumtaz, Khuda Dino, Mukhtiar, Ali Murad, Shahnawaz, Sadiq, Umair and others.

No arrest was made till the filing of this report. However, the police captured some cattle heads of the accused. The eighth victim of the incident was identified as Abdul Qadir Junejo.

SHO REVERTED: DPO Khairpur Ameer Ahmed Shaikh reverted Ranipur police station SHO Faiz Mohammad Dayo for negligence. The DPO told the newsmen that the incident took place due to police negligence. He said that three teams comprising TPO Gambat, TPO Sobhodero and some senior police officials had been deputed to arrest the accused.

ROBBERY: Some unknown armed men intercepted a car and snatched the car, cash and wristwatches from its driver, Qayyum Rind, and Aslam Baloch, near Manghanwari on Khairpur-Pir jo Goth road on Tuesday. In another incident, some armed men snatched a tractor from Aziz Khaskheli near Attari on the same road.

FIRE: A house, belonging to Ahmed Hussain Phulpoto, was reduced to ashes and three neighbouring houses were damaged as fire broke out in Tando Shah village, Kingri taluka, on Tuesday. Four goats of Mr Phulpoto were also burnt in the fire. Fire brigade was called from Khairpur which extinguished the fire.
