PPP team leaves for Delhi today

KARACHI, March 26: A high level delegation of the Pakistan People's Party, led by its parliamentary party leader in the National Assembly Makhdoom Amin Fahim, leaves for New Delhi on Saturday.

During its visit to India, the delegation would call on President Abdul Kalam Azad and Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, as well as home minister, national security adviser and leaders of various political parties.

Coordinator of the PPP delegation Nafis Siddiqui said on Friday that the delegation would convey the message from the party's chairperson Ms Benazir Bhutto to the people of India that peace, liberalism, tolerance and democracy in South Asia were vital amid changing values around the world.

The PPP delegation was invited to India by Ms Nirmala Deshpandey, head of Association of Asia Peoples. - PPI
