KHAIRPUR, Feb 27: About 250 power consumers, including an MPA, were booked by the Kot Diji police late on Thursday night for observing a sit-in to protest against Hesco for disconnecting the power supply to five villages.

The Kot Diji SHO lodged an FIR against some 250 persons, including People's Party Parliamentarians MPA Nawab Wassan, that said when the police tried to disperse the protesters led by the PPP MPA, they clashed with the police which resulted in injuries to TPO Abdullah Lakhair and four constables.

On the other hand, the MPA said the police baton-charged the protesters and used tear gas because of which some 10 villagers were injured. Meanwhile, Hesco official Sher Ali Mirjat lodged a case against some 20 inhabitants of Lal-ji-Wandh village that said the villagers attacked Hesco officials who had gone to the village to sever illegal connections.
