SUKKUR, Feb 16: Three persons were killed and at least 26 others were injured in two separate accidents on the Indus Highway near Buxapur and Kashmor on Monday.

Ms Aroon and Abdullah Chachar were killed and Ms Amna, Ms Aisha, Ms Anwari, Badal, Bahadur, Waddal and four others were injured when a speedy pickup overturned on the highway between Buxapur and Kandhkot.

Two of the injured were taken to a Larkana hospital because of their critical condition and the remaining were taken to Buxapur and Kandhkot hospitals.

Five-year-old Ajmal was killed and more than 16 persons, including Hila Khan, Mehar Gul, Qadir Bux, Ellahi Bux, Phullat, Imamuddin, Mohammad Salah, Amin, Mai Amani and Mai Nooran, were injured when a Kashmor-bound pickup (RN-2511) overturned after its tyre burst. The injured were taken to hospitals in Kashmor and Rahim Yar Khan.
