SUKKUR, Jan 29: The Sukkur Taluka Council on Thursday unanimously adopted a resolution calling upon the government to register cases of corruption against the taluka Nazim, Naib Nazim and the taluka municipal officer.

Union Council-6 Naib Nazim Saifullah Bhutto presided over the meeting. The members said Taluka Nazim Syed Kazim Ali Shah, Naib Nazim Wazir Ali Memon and TMO Mehdi Hassan Solangi were involved in corruption.

Later, the members took out a protest procession from the taluka council to the press club where they spoke at a press conference. They said taluka council convener Wazir Ali Memon had called a meeting of the council on Jan 29 to discuss the malpractice of the taluka council.

They said the convener postponed the meeting till Feb 9 soon after it started. When contacted by this correspondent, Taluka Nazim Shah and convener Memon said the allegations levelled against them by the members were baseless. They said the meeting was postponed only for Eid holidays.

Arrested: Three alleged bandits, allegedly involved in firing on the Mirpur Mathelo TPO, were arrested after an encounter in Yaroo Lund area on Thursday.
