SHEIKHUPURA, Jan 23: Wapda's staff suspended electricity supply to Syedwala for almost 10 hours on Friday when police refused to register a case against one of the relatives of an MPA.

According to a Wapda official, a team raided the house of Agha Saadat Abbas, a relative of MPA Agha Ali Haider, who is a parliamentary secretary for culture. They were allegedly beaten up by the servants of Agha Saadat.

The raiding team members alleged that their clothes were torn and cash snatched by the servants of Agha Saadat. They reported the matter to the police concerned who refused to register a case. In retaliation, they suspended power supply to the area and restored it when assured of action against the MPA's relative.
